I have a terrible experience with this black agent owner, Dorothy LO, the Mission Employment Agency 盟信僱傭, whom I got acquainted in a dancing school. She approached me one day, claimed herself, an employment agent owner, and could help me hiring helper in case I need.     


In July 2018, I needed a new helper and asked Dorothy LO to help me recruiting one.  She  introduced to me a lady, named Shirley Nesus ASPA. I found Shirley very young and the only child at home, so I asked Dorothy if Shirley very spoiled character and not ready to work in Hong Kong.  She told me Shirley would be very good, and in fact the niece of her helper who worked for her many years. She reiterated that as we were friends, she would let me change another helper for free within a year if I do not satisfy with Shirley.  

The helper, Shirely Nesus ASPA eventually arrived in HK on 15 Nov. 2018.  Even I have readiness that she may not know anything and need long-term coaching, but out of my expectation, she could not even understand simple command, she would just do exactly the opposite way you told.  She do not even know cooking a pan fry egg or boil egg.  For teaching her how to use washing machine, I told her more than 8 to 10 times, still she can't remember. For teaching her how to fry rice and vegetable for her lunch, I used one week, she still need me to do it for her again and again.  After two weeks, I still have to help her washing all her clothes. For the whole period of 4 and a half month, Shirley never cook one meal for my family, even the last week she left. I encouraged her to cook one simple dish of frying sliced meat with vegetable which I have taught her for over 30 or 40 times, her reply was I better did that myself, because she thought I would not like it.  She told me she was the only daughter at home, her father and husband would do all the cooking at home.  

Few days after she arrived, she repeatedly made some mistakes that I have told her for more than 3 or 4 times, so I scolded her.  She rushed into her room and sat on the floor to cry out loudly like a child.  I was surprised of her act then. I was desperate but couldn't do anything.  She kept video chat with her relatives for along time in loud voice but I didn't realize the content they said.  In the evening, she came out from her room and told me to give her one month salary and terminate her.  I told her I would never terminate her on my own, she should learn and work well to earn her salary.  If she doesn't like to work, she should give me one month salary in lieu of notice instead. She was all along holding a towel in her hand to rub her face.  I noticed her face was so red.  Then she suddenly said I pushed her and hurt her face. I was a bit scare for her allegation and told her to leave if she likes. But I said I must call the police before she left to examine her wound or else I might be blamed of any liability.  She cried even more loudly and closed the door for the whole night and didn't come out thereafter. The next day I found her didn't come out to work until 10:00 in the morning.  So,  I knocked her door. She jumped from her bed to the floor, that was about 5 feet from the floor distance.  And started rushing around my house at all corners like going mad.  I was really scare and my daughter come out from her room to comfort her and asked me what had happened.  I could not answer my daughter but just sat down in a very frustrated mood.  After my daughter talked to her, she calmed down and I thought she might be very spoiled child, so, I decided not scolding her when she made mistakes.  I tried to talk to her like she is a baby girl and give her much more time to get used to work in Hong Kong.  During the period, I kept contact with Dorothy and wished she should coach Shirley as well.

I found Shirley always video chat to her husband at late night till 2 or 3 pm in loud voice.  So, one day, I told her not to speak too loud at late night.  She suddenly started to cry loudly and shouted that those were her rights and I should not interfere her privacy.  She was getting furious all of a sudden.

At the end of December, she came up to me one night after holiday and told me she needed to go home. She told me her two daughters were supposed to be taken care by the sister of her husband.  But the son of that sister had a new born baby in Manila, so the sister of her husband had to go to Manila to take care of her own grandchild.  I appeared had no choice but I also worried if she had wasted much money to come to work in HK.  Shirley told me her family is quite well off.  She has house even bigger than mine.  Her family has many rice fields, lots of coconut tree, papaya trees and workers.  They didn't care even the papayas all dropped on the ground. Besides, her husband works at Quatar with quite good pay.  She felt lonely and that's why come here to see earn some pocket money.  Indeed, she was not so care the money because she needed not borrow a penny to come here.  Also, the environment around her house is not safe for her two daughters.  Under the circumstances, I have to accept her resignation.

After a week more, Shirley told me her family problem had been settled and she could continue to work here.  Despite her work standard is low, thinking that we should always give chance to youngsters, I accepted her resumption of employment with me.  Shirley told me she would inform Immigration herself.

I noticed that when Shirley's auntie, the helper of Dorothy, was away from Hong Kong, Shirley was quite nice  peaceful in mind and working attitude was acceptable, but once her auntie came back, she became rude again and always arguable.  So, I advised her not to listen to other people.  Just do what she considered as correct.  But every time, when she came back after holiday, she was troublesome to complain me this and that, eg, no regular sunday off.  

About two months lapse, Shirley came home after holiday and suddenly queried me why not showing her the letter from Immigration to allow her resuming work with me.  She doubted if she was an overstayer now. She also worried I have intentionally allow her overstaying to make her in trouble.  Her attitude was very bad. I took out the letter to let her see again.  I queried her why she always made trouble with me.  She told me again if I was not happy with her, I could just pay her one salary in lieu of notice to terminate her.  I felt there was a trap.   

Few days later, she told me again she needed to go home for sure as her 4 year old daughter was unwilling to go to school. She also emphasized that her husband warned her she should go home before end of March.  I was quite puzzled for her always changing attitude and asked her why she came here to work if her family needed her so badly.  She told me she doesn't like her job being instructed by others always.  At the same time, she suddenly told me her grandmother is a witch who can kill people by only the photo or one piece of hair of that person. I felt uncomfortable to hear her speaking.  I think that was the right time to let go this baby girl with completely childish mind.  

I then called Dorothy and queried her why introducing me this helper who doesn't really need work in Hong Kong?  It appears that Shirley just came for a holiday.  Finally Dorothy promised to give me free replacement as she agreed before within one year.  

On 5 March, I arrived Dorothy's Hung Hom Office and chose a lady called Tiongson born in 1980. Her staff, Cindy, let me signed the blank contract, blank forms from Immigration and gave me photocopy of this lady's resume.  Also, she gave me a copy of agreement between the Employment Agency and Employer.  On which, she also stated service charge is $0, vide attached document.   

Two weeks later, I consulted Dorothy about the progress, she told me to wait patiently. One week later, I asked again the situation, Dorothy said the helper's husband did not allow her to come and asked me to choose another one. Thereafter, I chose another one, she said the lady had no money to pay the agency.  Then, I choose the third one, she said the file not existed any more. So, I chose the 4th and 5th one to let them check for me.  There were no answer for 3 days.  When I tried to call or whatsApp Dorothy or her assigned staff.  They started to block me and never returned to me any call or message.  

In the afternoon of 29 March, I decided to post the fact on face book to give Dorothy some pressure.  The time was about 4:30 pm.  She immediately response to me and terribly fabricated story to say that I had been beaten Shirley, my maid for the past few months.  On 29 March, Shirley left my house in the morning 7 am., greeting us to leave without any irregularities and bid goodbye.  She even hugged me to ask me taking care.  At around 6 pm, I received a video from Dorothy via whatsApp.  She warned me not to make any trouble or else she would place the video to the public.  In the video, Shirley was crying for the whole recording and said I had been hurting her and ill-treated her during her employment with me. The video was taken only after I posted the misbehaviour of Dorothy on face book.  

On 30 March, I went to the Agency at Hung Hom to ask them replacing for me a helper, Dorothy refused and said they needed to charge me $6100 instead.  I have sought Police assistance but in vain.  

I did approach the legal representative consulting the possible venue to sue this company but the advice is very discouraging.  I was later told by some other dancing classmates, they have similar experience like me for hiring helper from Dorothy LO, vide extracts from face book attached.  I want to share my experience with other employers to let them be alert about this kind of black agent and vacation helper.

冇人撐外傭,冇人迫你請外傭,你講外傭係10個外傭9個偷,自己出錢請搵隻老鼠入米缸,傻的嗎?還是精神有問題?

冇人會撐賊,即炒

冇人會撐賊,即炒 ...
如果香港生活成本低, 可以一個出去工作就可以養起頭家, 根本無人會請外傭, 明知請D外傭風險好高.
但香港普通家庭一定要兩公婆出黎做野先可以, 焗請都無辨法, 仲有如果無請過外傭既香港人, 請唔好成日出聲幫D外傭.
當你用過外傭, 你就知佢地可以有幾濺.
